Environmental Engineering Student’s Association

The Environmental Engineering Student Association at Airlangga University (HMTL UNAIR) is an organization that brings together students from the Environmental Engineering program at Airlangga University who share common goals and aspirations. HMTL serves as a platform to facilitate both academic and non-academic activities, as well as personal development for Environmental Engineering students.

HMTL was established on January 7, 2016, originally named HMITL, the Environmental Science and Technology Student Association, after initial preparations began in 2014. The founding of HMITL was led by the first cabinet, Kabinet Bangkit. The association’s activities were continued by Kabinet Gerak in 2017 and Kabinet Solid in 2018. In 2018, following a directive from the Rector’s Decree, the Environmental Science and Technology program officially changed its name to Environmental Engineering, prompting HMITL to be renamed HMTL. The name HMTL has been retained to this day.

HMTL has continued to evolve with several cabinets: Kabinet Juang (2019), Kabinet Aksi (2020), Kabinet Arunika (2021), Kabinet Nyata (2022), Kabinet Atramentum (2023), and Kabinet Nawasena (2024). The HMTL leadership is headed by the President, supported by the Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and two Coordinating Ministers: the Minister of Student Potential Development (Menko PPM) and the Minister of Public Relations (Menko Humas). Additionally, HMTL comprises several ministries, each with specific responsibilities:

HMTL runs various programs and has three major annual projects. These flagship programs include the Environment Festival (“EFEST”), Community Service (“Ngabdi Rek!”), and Student Orientation (“Aforanger”).

HMTL also has a community focused on environmental studies called the Environmental Study Group (KSL). Initially overseen by the Biology Student Association (HIMBIO) since 2009, KSL came under the management of HMTL in 2016. KSL has become a community under HMTL that concentrates on environmental study activities to this day.
